  • Here is an update on the towns and cities that have been seized by pro-Russia activists in Ukraine's east:

    Slavyansk: Pro-Russia activists seized the police building, the town hall and the SBU, security services, building on April 12.

    Donetsk: The regional administrative building was seized on April 6 and the city hall was taken over on April 16.

    Lugansk: Some 1,000 pro-Russia protesters took over the SBU building on April 6. And on April 29, a crowd of 3,000 seized the regional administrative building.

    Kramatorsk: The city's town hall was taken over on April 12 during a rally of more than 1,000 pro-Russia demonstrators. On April 15, protesters took over the nearby SBU building. And on April 21, pro-Russia activists forcibly took back the town hall. A Ukrainian military base just outside the city has also fended off several attacks.

    Gorlivka: The police building was seized on April 14.

    Makiivka: The town hall was taken over on April 13.

    Artemivsk: The town hall was occupied by pro-Russia activists on April 12.

    Yenakieve: The police and prosecutor's offices were taken over on April 13.

    Khartsyzk: The town hall was seized on April 14.

    Zhdanivka: The town hall was taken over on April 14.

    Kirovske: The town hall was seized on April 14

    Torez: The town hall was taken on April 15.

    Kostyantynivka: The town hall was seized on April 28.

    Pervomaisk: The town hall was taken on April 29.
